Typical WTBTS spin on the Cain/Abel story.

millie210 posted this on another thread - i thought it deserved it's own op:.
i took an elderly friend to the meeting last night.
the study is in the "imitate their faith" book which is merely a compilation of previous short stories about bible characters that were featured in a series of watchtower articles.. they waste no time beginning their spinning and supposition with the cain/abel story.
Typical WTBTS spin on the Cain/Abel story.

i was invited to a small get-together by a long time friend.
we both served as elders for years.
he is in his late 70s.
This does not surprise me at all.
In my cong, and the neighboring Spanish congs, I notice that the JWs are very disconnected to what the Org asks for; youngsters are encouraged and follow through with higher education, more than a couple date and some recently have married non-JWs, they skip service and meetings often. In the demeanor there is this air of rebellion and doing one's own thing. I love it.
Thanks Internet!!!

we are madly in love with each other and she is in the process of being divorced.
let me make one thing clear i'm not the reason for the divorce.
she attempted to reconcile with him but to no avail.
Any JW that mixes romantically with a non-JW is not a 'true' JW; mixing up with non-JWs is a huge "no-no"! Unless you are willing to become a lukewarm JW yourself in the future, you better make things very clear with this person, or down the road the relationship will fail and create much misery in the case that children are involved.
Protect yourself.

From Rhianna to Serena?! What a difference in women? Like a night and day. I just refuse to believe this.

hi.i've been pouring over this site for the past few days looking for some advice and i hope there is someone here that can help a guy out.
i'm desperate.....short bio: i came into the organization after high school and shortly after married a wonderful girl who was born-in.we have been happily married now for nearly 20 years and things were well until 2015 hit.
by the way, i currently serve as an elder and have the ""privilege"" of being the "watchtower overseer".. either here nor there, we were told we would never have children but late last year my wife became prego!!
I like Zoos' take on it: My wife needs my dedicated support. I need to step down for a while. Then start missing meetings slowly. If the wife turns super JW, start feeling depression and anxiety yourself and miss meetings as usual as possible.
Good luck.

remember this?.
.
well how about this?.
The WTBTS is no different than the Catholic Church in the case of infant baptism.
JWs encourage much too young children to make the most important decision of their lives. A person that cannot be held liable in a contract agreement due to age, should not be baptized.
Not old enough to drive/drink/marry, all very important decisions, not old enough for baptism.

a year to a year and a half ago, i would have taken this article at face value and believed it.. now, i realize this article comes from a dubious source.
world news daily has a die-hard right-wing bias.
so, in an effort to get real information, i'm asking my european exjw's, is this article all true?
The West should get their paws out of their riches and their business.
Whatever problems they have, let them hatch it out themselves. We have so many issues here tone corrected and worked out to keep us busy.
Let us mind OUR business!!!

it feels so good to be free from the jdub cult!

Welcome.
Do not waste your time. The best revenge is having a really good life, the one you envisioned; Educate yourself, acquire a good/satisfying job, travel, look and be well, enjoy life.

http://www.nltimes.nl/2015/10/22/hague-court-deals-blow-to-scientology-tax-free-status/.
from the article -"the dutch branch of the church of scientology has lost its tax status as public welfare institution, and the tax benefits that go along with it, in a ruling made by the court in the hague on wednesday.
the court decided that the sales of the churchs expensive courses and therapy sessions are clearly aimed at making a profit, and thus it does not belong on the tax authorities charity list.".
I look forward to the day here in the USA when ALL so called religious institutions lose their tax exempt status.
